The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace

What a very lovely evening I've just had!

Chatting to our opera singing nephew at church last Sunday, he said he was dashing off to a rehearsal. I asked what he was preparing for - he said that he was due to be singing at Buckingham Palace on Thursday evening.

'Oh' said I, 'any spare tickets?' I was joking, not expecting.

'Yes!' He said, he was allowed to invite one guest.

So this evening, I found myself at The Queen's Gallery at a celebration of all things Venetian as part of a Canaletto exhibition there.

Some of the students from the Royal Academy were invited to sing some songs to entertain the guests.

Delighted to hear our nephew sing - he is a lovely baritone  - in such lovely surroundings.
