Landing imminent

This is back at Craiglockhart Pond. She is one of a number of mallards, the males looking very fine in their breeding plumage. The male swan was harassing the female goosander who is possibly just tame rather than injured! And I think there might be a couple of goosanders. The swan should pick on something his own size, although that would be difficult. Anyway, she took the hint and left the swans to it. The male swan was also chasing the cygnets some of the time, starting to give them the message that it's time to move on. There were also a whole raft of tufted ducks with the males beginning to come into their breeding plumage, lots of blackheaded gulls, a coot, a moorhen and a juvenile little grebe.
