Decay

Another fungus; perhaps a home for the fairies although sadly on the way out, we didn't spot these until this morning. The base of the stem is coated with pine needles from the towering conifer above, I started to unpick one or two but had a change of mind, they are stuck to the stem and assume this is all part of the process.

Blackbirds like the fallen apples seen in the extra, the other is one of many Hosta's which are rapidly decaying, more so that any other plant.
