Day 1

After landing in Nairobi, Kenya at 6.30 i met my fellow travelling companions who were to become my family for the next 2 weeks. All 18 of us were picked up in the large overland vehicle and after stopping for breakfast we crossed the great rift valley to our first destination...Lake Navaisha. We spotted these Rock Hyax on one of our stops. We were taken to the home of Joy Adamson (of Born Free fame with Elsa the lioness) which has now become a conservation site and museum. Here we were treated to afternoon tea in the company of some brightly coloured exotic birds. The tents were eracted for us and it was an early night after a long day of travel.
