Glorious golden day...

A glorious golden Autumn day, wall to wall warm sunshine...

After the "children" and their dad had headed off to work, P and I had the day to ourselves. First stop was Goring on Thames and Streetly, where we walked past George Michael's house and along part of the Thames Path, enjoying the autumn colours and reflections in the river. After all that walking, we found a riverside pub for a sit down and a drink in the sunshine.

Next stop was a return visit to Basildon Park where we had a late lunch and a wander around the grounds. Definitely too nice a day to go inside the house, but my eye was caught by the play of light and shadow on the staircase to the house.

Back through the golden country lanes of Berkshire and Oxfordshire for another cosy family evening. So good to catch up with old friends...
