Still brilliant

We were back in Benmore Gardens today - this time st the request of our youngest grandchild - and because of the odd timing of our day found ourselves with a window of quietly pleasant weather. The trees lose more of their leaves daily now, which made this gold and red moment by the pond even more precious.

In other news...Anna and I made shortbread animal biscuits after breakfast ( using antique cutters that my mother had when I was a child) as well as her recipe. And both girls had consumed hot chocolate with cream, marshmallows and Maltesers in the gardens cafe...

All very autumnal.
