I may have mentioned that I sometime participate in on-line photography challenges courtesy of DPChallenge.com...  

They are an interesting community.. not as active as they were a few years back but still some great people participate. 

The premise is simple... You get weekly challenges which may have a theme.. such as in this case 'Tom Petty Lyrics' and the idea is you have to take a photo to the challenge theme in the next two weeks. 

The photos get uploaded and at the end of the challenge window everyone votes out of 10... it gets quite interesting near the end of voting as a decent score (6.5 - 7) should win a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place ribbon!

No cash prizes but the rules are strictly managed and evidence of the RAW image is required to prove validity if you get in the top 10... great fun... My entry (blipped a few days back) is doing quite well :)
