Train Ride

No, not on this pretty little train but on the ScotRail from Dunkeld & Birnam to Edinburgh!  Friend L. had two free tickets for a return journey and asked me along.  

Can't remember the last time I travelled by rail, but it was a very civilised journey in spite of having to change in Perth both ways.  Lovely to see the bridges from a new angle too, though photographs were a challenge through the dirty windows.

Because the travel had to be off-peak, we had very little time in Edinburgh, but enough for a visit to John Lewis where we had lunch and I managed to use my coffee and cake voucher before it expired at the end of the month:-)  A fine girls' day out!

The drive home in the late sunshine through the glorious autumn colours was a delightful way to end the day too.
