Car Park Sculpture

Finding this sculpture was a real surprise. It is in Tesco's Car Park in Lichfield. I had never noticed it before.

Parking can be a nightmare and today was no exception. I was meeting a friend for lunch in a new bistro and ended up using the supermarket car park. (The bistro was lovely - called 1709 - which I have learned is the year of Dr Samuel Johnson's birth)

On my way BACK to the car - I had walked past it on the way out - I noticed it.

It's called "The Formation of Poetry" and it's by Peter Walker, to celebrate 300 years since Dr Johnson's birth - and it was designed with the help of students from The Friary School.
