Cairnholy Post Ex Ophelia

Woke to no electricity so after checking travel news on the car radio we set of to Kirkcudbright in search of coffee.  Quite a few clear up operations going on - was really impressed with the speed and efficiency of the work done to remove fallen trees etc.  Tried to go to Cairnsmore of Fleet nature reserve but stopped by a tree in the road, saw two red squirrels though.  Ended up going to Cairnholy - what a fascinating place. We spent a couple of hours there as we got a personal tutorial from a man I'd noticed doing a strange dance like routine with intermittent scribbles in his notebook.  He was keen to share and didn't mind when M asked him if he was Merlin.  I'll never look at stones and shadows in the same way again.
