Life through the lens...

Waiting patiently

It was a certain persons birthday today.
The weather wasn't too good, with rain forecast for the morning.
So he decided on lunch out, followed by a visit to an RSPB reserve.
What a good idea I thought!

For lunch we tried the newly opened White Horse Inn at Ledston, Nr Castleford.
A lovely village, but the pub didn't quite live up to our expectations.
We expected it to be warm and cosy, but the fires weren't lit, and it just didn't have much atmosphere.
The food was OK, but didn't live up to all the hype.
We won't be going again.

However we did have a lovely walk round RSPB Fairburn Ings nature reserve.
Lots of different ducks and geese, and saw my first redwing of the winter.
Two more photos as extras. One of a very young heron, and the other a collage.
Also saw quite a few dragonflies. Probably enjoying the warm weather.
Back now enjoying a nice cuppa and some of the gingerbread I baked yesterday.
Eldest son has just called to wish MrC a happy birthday, and brought he some special beers and a voucher.
Many thanks A and family.
