Wound up in Wexford

The beginning of the end

Jane's here again.  The entrance hall is the last room in the house to get decorating attention.  We did a few rooms ourselves in the early days.  And the ceiling of this room is so low that it would have been easy for us to tackle.  We did seriously consider it.  But although we are aware of the need for preparation, we are lacking the patience to do it well, so we decided that we should let Jane take the strain!

She has spent the day sanding and filling, and will continue with that tomorrow.  Poor Fido is rather flumoxed by the whole thing.  We've put his carpet back this evening, but so far he hasn't settled on it.

Meanwhile, W has spent the latter part of the day weeding, and I have been busy with the sewing machine.  I had several pairs of trousers with hems coming down - I've been very lazy and done them all with a machine stitch rather than invisible hand stitched hemming.  Mum would be horrified!
