Dragonfly nymph #2
Just printed the first proof of my new lino print "Dragonfly Nymph" - ten times life size. I've still got to decide on a background which is going to be printed from a second block. The ten steps to get to this stage have been:
1. catch a dragonfly nymph
2. photograph the dragonfly nymph (and return it to the water)
3. make drawings from the photographs (two hours)
4. simplify the drawings
5. prepare a block of lino
6. reverse the simplified drawing and transfer to the lino block
7. cut the design into the lino block (six hours work)
8. clean the block
9. ink the block
10. print!
