Sunday: Margaret Atwood

For part of the day, it was beautifully sunny so we walked the length of Commercial Drive, stopping wherever took our fancy.

And then this evening to Granville Island for the last event of this year's Vancouver Writers' Fest - an event with Andrew O'Hagen and Margaret Atwood (moderated by John Freeman) on 'Writing Now'. In essence, it was about what it means to write now, both in terms of responsiblity but also when it comes to the pressures of social media etc. It was excellent - both were very compelling although it was easy to see how Margaret Atwood has gained her reputation of not suffering fools gladly.
