Granny's Bonnets

Grey sky, showery weather had me leaning out of Daughter E's bedroom window for this array of gentle colour. With the window flung open, a breeze got up and the small Granny's Bonnets began swaying in time to a little bird whose been singing the same tune all day long.

Birds in the garden today were Mr and Mrs Blackbird gathering dried stalks and grasses for their nest, the tiny wax-eyes were picking at little bugs on my roses and getting very excited over the Kowhai flowers, the starlings sat high up in the trees preening and the thrush was busy fossicking amongst the dried leaves on the garden floor.

Now as I type there's a little blue sky, the garden is glistening in the sun as the light captures the raindrops, the temperature has risen by one degree and is now showing 12C. Tomorrow is forecasted to be bright and warm :)
