A peaceful lunch
A very busy day for Archie. A very lazy day pour moi!
Elizabeth came by 10 o’clock, and was met by a rapturous dog on the path. She always brings gifts for Archie, and today it was a huge 'chocolate' biscuit in the shape of a bone. It looks good enough for human consumption.
He was home for about an hour before his next friends arrived. Annet, his newest friend, came with her boyfriend, Bruno. He lives in Glasgow, and so they meet in each other's cities every weekend. And in fact, they have a dog they borrow in Glasgow too!
It's a great way to get out and about. Today they did a big walk up Blackford Hill, through the Hermitage of Braid, had a coffee at the cafe and walked home. They really enjoyed the walk, as they haven’t been there before. Archie was good - came back when called, chased balls on the hill, went swimming and generally had a brilliant time. Bruno, who hadn’t met him before thought he was great. He was most impressed with his tricks, which they practised on top of The Hill in the wind (I saw photos).
JR went off supermarket shopping, I did a few light household duties, then settled down with my audiobook, my lunch and a beer, a home brew by Archie's pal Anne (and very good it is too). This had the added bonus of keeping me awake. I finished the book and didn’t doze off even once.
Archie has not budged since he had his bath and then his tea. He didn’t even look up when I had an Almond Magnum for my pudding! He's probably having pleasant dreams about his great doggie day out.
