Wood Carver

This afternoon we had lunch at the Tontine and then went to have a look round the Wood Festival. There were quite a number of wood carvers. We didn’t hang around for the final sale as both thechimp and I knew we would come back with something.

There were a lot of stalls in the Drill Hall and to my surprise I came across one of my friends from work who was ‘manning’ a stall with her sister. They were selling beautiful carved wooden troughs and very ornate bird boxes (far too good to put outside) made by their dad. I couldn’t stretch to one of the larger items but did buy a lovely Christmas candle holder which may well be the subject of a blip sometime nearer Christmas
