Mount

Found a little extra distance in the morning ride - 36 miles. And obviously it was windy and raining and the roads were covered in wet leaves and assorted farmer's muck and I came home absolutely filthy (but happy) once again.

Out in the afternoon to Mount Stuart estate, country house and grounds. All great, and a walk back to the visitors' centre along the coastal path that was, we all agreed, very nice indeed but just that little bit longer than we would have liked it to have been. Pretty weary by the time we left. No option then but to go to the pub for tea instead of going straight home. And, I don't know if it's the exercise or the fresh air or what, but it was a meal that really-hit-the-spot once again. If you're ever on Bute, I can heartily recommend the Kingarth Hotel (which is, as it happens, pretty much the only pub on the island outside of Rothesay).
