Indoor plants.

Mrs. K. has always been generously tolerant of my enthusiasms. Over 55 years of our life together there have been many.

As readers of this journal will know I have recently returned to an old interest: collecting Cacti and succulents. It is a hobby with several advantages. It is relatively cheap and you can be away for two or three weeks without worrying about watering. The great variety in form and very good flowers give much pleasure and fascination.

There is one problem. Although unlike many houseplants, cacti are hard to kill, some of them are susceptible to frost. This means that in winter many have to come into the house as the greenhouse has no heat.
Several south facing windowsills are now full. Yesterday Mrs. K. kindly bought some ceramic bowls which can be placed elsewhere in the house.

Here is my first attempt to make use of them.
