Yew Tree Tarn
John was still not well enough to come out with us this morning but by common consent we had all agreed to go to Hodge Close, one of my favourite spots in the Lake District, an old disused slate mine that is grown over with silver birch trees. The winds earlier in the week had blown down most of the leaves from the trees but with sunny skies in the morning the place is magical.
A group of us stopped off on the way to take water reflections at Yew Tree Tarn. I am not a great lover of lakeside reflections myself especially when they appear as an almost carbon copy and create overall strong graphical designs. However today I was able to get some reasonable foreground features which helps to give the image a more natural environment.
