October on Gloucester Rd.
Had a trip out on my own this morning as Grace was expecting her sister in law to call.
I had two missions: one to get a parcel from the PO depot we visited earlier in the week and the other to get a Savoy cabbage (linked to Grace's consultation yesterday!)
Lots of stalls with gourds and pumpkins on the stalls outside the greengrocery shops. Also some in use in Halloween displays.
Walking back up through Bishopston you pass through an Avenue of Plane trees. When G&J first moved to this part of the city it was early November and I remember the piles of huge leaves that had fallen to the pavements beneath them. Only one or two today and the trees were still largely green.
With storm Brian on the horizon tonight there may be a lot more by the end of the weekend.
When I got back lunch was ready on the table, made by Jess and including delicious Dim Sum. Eda was delighting cousin Iris as were the cats.
A quiet afternoon now, literally before the storm which I will have to travel home in tomorrow.
