Thursday: Come Rhyme With Me

It's Vancouver Writers' Fest this week - an exciting week in town. Tonight K. and I were invited to 'Come Rhyme With Me', an evening of poetry at a restaurant in Gastown. There were 2 UK poets (Dean Atta and Deanna Rodgers), as well as 2 Canadian poets (including the fabulous Ahmed Knowmadic from Edmonton). A fabulous night.

I'd really recommend checking out Dean Atta's 'I am Nobody's N****** on YouTube, it's really powerful.......it's about the murder of Stephen Lawrence and the use of the 'N' word in rap etc.
