There and back again - Day 16

It was time to leave North Island. 
We caught the Interislander from Wellington to Picton.
It was a three and half hour journey over the Cook strait 
and we picked up the next hire car and off to Hanmer Springs.

Due to the earthquake last year the main road to Kiakoura
had fallen into the sea. We had to divert inland and stay overnight.
The road was full of roadworks and added an extra 2 hours to 
the journey.
