Missing you

This morning I took Rosie to the vet and left her behind with a very heavy heart. When the phone call from the vet eventually came, the news was not entirely as good as I'd hoped. The operation to spay her had gone well but a few tumours had already developed. They were successfully removed but an X-ray was needed to be certain that they hadn't spread yet which meant more anxious waiting until another phone call from the vet confirmed that all was well. For now. Two more X-rays will have to be taken in 3 and 6 months' time to make sure that no new tumours have developed.

Today is the first time that Rosie and I have been apart since she's been living with us and I miss her so much that I almost cannot stop looking at a painting of her that hangs about my desk. This wonderful work of art that has captured Rosie so well was a present from a dear friend and made by his very talented daughter.
