Granite Kind Of Day

Jon and I took the day today to take a short hike, enjoy some beautiful views and remember our daughter Sumner.  It was five years ago that she left this world with the quiet of a candle blowing out in a soft breeze.  She was not a quiet person, she was life personified, vibrant, loud and noticed.  Her closest friends got in touch today and shared photos and experiences and surrounded us with peace and love.  Some people that never met her also stayed in touch and shared their thoughts and impressions of us and her.  She gave me a bracelet a couple of years before she left, it reads - "Love Never Dies" and with each year I realize that to be true.  She would not want us to be somber or sad, so we tried to relive some joyful moments today.
