Frantic day at work - well frantic week really! Couple of bits of bad news but we are really starting to see some progress although the time scale for all of this is incredibly tight. Had a 2 hour meeting about organisational design principles ( yes I didn't know there were such things either) apparently there are norms for management layers and span of control and we are way off both! I'm beginning to regretbeing on steering group for this - all a bit surreal. Finished the day with a trip to see northern ballet. They did Songs of the Earth ( excellent ) and la sylphide - with a scottish theme . More surreal ( not sure I can make a noun from that, it only feels right as an adjective)
