Schoolboy error

As I got up to make a brew this afternoon the PC threw up a dialogue box telling me that there were software updates to install. I made the silly mistake of agreeing to them while I made a cup of tea. This is a company PC and the update was pushed by the IT team so I knew it was safe but I'd forgotten the important thing - it would take forever. 

And ever. 

And ever again. 

I could have prepared and enjoyed a three-course meal. I know of marriages that haven't lasted as long. As soon as one set of downloads had finished it grabbed some more and rebooted again.

The stuff I'm doing just now has to be done on this box rather than my own laptop so all I could do was wait.
