Dominance
The church in Rochefort is massive. It completely dominates the town.
I haven't read up on it yet but it has obviously been built onto at a number of stages. I took some photos of the front portion which shows obvious decay and is playing host to a variety of foliage in its masonry. If I was allowed extras, this is where I would put them.
This was taken just outside the site that we are staying on, by the bank of the Louet. In the sandy foreground is one of the river beaches that the site is named for.
We are on the move again tomorrow and going further up the Loire.
