Life through the lens...

Barden to Bolton.

Just a pity our walk from Barden Bridge to Bolton Abbey started out in mist, and then turned to rain, halfway round.
However it didn't dampen our spirits, and as we walked back along the river, the trees sheltered us from the worst of the weather.

I decided on a collage. Sorry that due to the weather the photos are also a bit gloomy.

The river was running fairly fast, due to the rain we have had lately.
As we came down the hillside towards the stepping stones, we noticed two people walking across.
Then as we got nearer I realised that the Asian lady was wearing a Niqab.
I certainly admired her courage. I think she was smiling as we said " Well done"!
No way was I going to walk across even though I was wearing walking boots and trousers.
Only one of our group did!

Lunch as usual in the abbey ruins, and then unfortunately it began to rain.
We put our waterproofs on and so kept reasonably dry.

About 7 miles in all. Think about 16/17,000 steps.

As usual we finished off in the Strid Cafe.
I had a gorgeous piece of courgette, avocado, and lime cake.
Just baked, and sooooo yummy!
Must see if I can find a recipe.
Back now, and waterproofs hung up to dry. Glad to say the boots stayed clean.

Thank you for your kind stars and hearts for yesterday's bee.
I have just been out to see if it is still there, and it is. Now rather wet, but still moving, just.
I have cut the flower of and put it in a dry spot under the hedge. Hopefully it may dry out, although I don't think it has much of a chance now. Poor thing.
