Old and new...

...from the Levada above Funchal...
Walked in from our apartment on the Levada high above the seafront. Great views, and an amazing mix of new properties being constructed, old ones like this falling down, and rickety ones continuing to be inhabited. Likewise the gardens - from new infinity pools via tended patches to scrub land.
Also took the telepherique up to Monte and had fun watching people in wicker sleds career down the streets ;)
