Somehow there's something......

.....not quite right about a nightclub act performing to a roomful of crinklies on a North Sea Ferry moored on the Tyne at 1pm of a Thursday lunchtime......

5 of us Make, Do and Menders were invited along because we'd been nominated for an award at the annual North Tyneside 'Age Takes Centre Stage' Prizegiving extravaganza (take it from me, it's not quite  the oscars!)....we managed a 'commended' (which translates as 'nice try but could do better';-)) and were rewarded with a couple of sandwiches, a blueberry muffin and a certificate in a clip frame. Oh, and I won the raffle, a 2 day mini-cruise for 2 to Amsterdam.....which isn't as exciting as it sounds, unless you're into the dubious delights of a there-and-almost-immediately-back-again trip on a choppy North Sea in the middle of winter (I've done it more than once so I know what I'm talking about), one of the kids or the granddaughter might be getting it as a joke Christmas pressie ;-)
