Prepare for Winter!

Monkey is well & truly prepared for the winter months. And he likes to do it in style!

As you can probably tell, Jenny got bored & when Jenny gets bored, things get knit. And here is the latest masterpiece from her fine handy work.

I think Monkey might also be hinting that it might be about time to get the heating fixed so that we could actually use it, especially when it gets colder!

The first day of my weekend today, so I did the usual, had a little lay in & then as a treat, I made some little American pancakes & added some chopped nanas - yum! They're brilliant with golden syrup on top. I popped into town to do some general pottering about & some sorting of a few things.

Early evening struck & Jen fancied the cinema. So we made our way to the famous Uckfield Picture House (featured in my Blip on Wednesday 25 July). We both had a strange urge to see Hope Springs with Tommy Lee Jones, Meryl Streep & Steve Carell & so with the hoards of exclusively middle aged & OAP cinema goers, we shuffled through the doors & gingerly eased ourselves into our seats. We were easily the youngest in there by a good 25 years & the only people sitting in the front 4 rows, so no obstructions (our youth & good eyesight obviously played to our advantage!). It was an enjoyably, funny & at times sad-ish film & only induced a few cringe-worthy, please-let-this-seat-swallow-me-up-now moments, when some of the film's more raunchier scenes were shown. All in all a good romp (no pun intended).
