This ain't the house
Thank you for your kind comments on the last blip.
Today I drove the hour and a quarter drive over to the house with the Hyundai mower and all sorts in the car after taking the Boss to work. She was tired before she got to hers and I was before I got to mine.
I stopped in a little wayside cafe at Scarpaccia for a cappuccino and paste' before arriving.
Then I set to mowing. It is so good to have a garden again.
Later I surveyed the particella (No.9) of land that God had forgotten.
A steep sloping wet clay patch once planted as a walnut grove. God must have left a while back as the devil's brambles took over. This is work for a digger.
Later still I went to Ponte a Poppi to do the insurance. Came out at over €700. But then we didn't realise we were buying two houses instead of one.
I had some lovely pics of the the house but for some stupid reason I can't load them from my iPhone. So this instead, where I stopped to get a 5L fiaschetto of Frescobaldi 'speciale'.
The woman serving told me how hard it must have been to leave Edinburgh when I blurted out the news about the house in Casentino. And, yes it was.
But the nuthatches here are singing a different song. Gianluca, when he came up to help with the almost incomprehensible electric meter reading said, 'I am so glad you are are now Stradini' - as people who come from, or live in, Strada in Casentino are known.
I too am glad to be a Stradino.
I'll be back out there tomorrow and take some real pictures from my bloody real DSLR camera.
