The Ibis and the Big Nest

The nesting season is well underway with quite a lot of baby ibis already born and fledged. I guess it is the second lot coming along now and because the ibis strip the trees for twigs to make their nests finally I can see into this space and what a shock I got!

That group of ibis you can see are standing on what could be the biggest nest I've ever seen. Looks like they have just kept building and building and building until it's more like a platform than a nest, it starts down by the water! Only the ibis could be funny enough to do this....lol!!

As you can see their island is still totally underwater, we've had more rain than we've seen for quite a few years!! And more coming!!
