After party

Another back blip and late night shot in poor light!

This was supposed to be my moment of peace before I went to bed. I've felt very much as if everything in my life has been about duty and practicalities recently and I feel mentally exhausted and creatively dammed (not damned, though, I hope!), so I fetched myself a hot drink and looked around for something to photograph. You can't tell here, but the light patterns on the carpet were fab.
A minute later the 17-year-old came down and told me my music was too loud!

My older sister and brother-in-law had been over for dinner. They've been in the country for 4 weeks and have tried to fit in a date with almost everyone they know! Last night was our turn.

It was a nice evening and they are easy company, but I was only too aware the whole time that they would soon be leaving to go back to Australia again and the pressure to sap as much out of the evening as possible was almost too great for me. It's much easier when people live nearby and you can ignore them! ;o)
