Ruby #1

Ruby is a 4-year old French Bulldog  who has come here from Kentucky to live with my neighbours/friends. Her family had a baby about 8 months ago and Ruby, the baby substitute, is no longer needed, I guess. She is well-behaved and a sweet dog who tries hard to please.
There are two larger, older dogs in the household and she likes them.

French Bulldogs are expensive, designer dogs with inherited genetic problems. They cost thousands of dollars to buy as puppies. Apparently all of them have a genetic liver disease-- a canine hepatitis . She gets a daily pill for this. Digestive problems, so she gets Science Diet for Sensitive Digestion.  Takes Prozac for anxiety. And other special things.  The Pug-type nose requires daily cleaning or clearing.
My friends' dogs are mixed breed mutts who were rescued and cost next to nothing to raise. Once the owners had their baby after much trying (they had great difficulty) then baby Ruby was not wanted...
She's a likeable little girl.
Tomorrow we are going warm clothes shopping for Ruby. Today started at 29ºF (-1.6ºC).  We all may need sweaters from now on. Miss Ruby is used to a Southern climate. And has been raised to be a 'Princess'.
