Birmingham Cathedral

Location: Cathedral Square, Birmingham

A beautiful autumnal day and a visit to Birmingham.  The morning was taken up looking around the botanical gardens.  I've only previously visited the site for training events so it was interesting to walk around the grounds.

Afterwards we popped in to the city centre to look for new bedroom furniture and linen.  While looking around House of Fraser I spied a window looking out onto Cathedral Square.  It showed off this part of the city in its best autumn finery, complete with the ever growing number of cranes that are proliferating across the city.  I'm not sure we will catch up with London in this regard, but it shows the amount of new development taking place.  Birmingham city centre will always struggle to grow; constrained as it is by the inner ring road, but it is certainly heading skyward.
