Red Sun.
There was a U.K. wide phenomenon today caused by Hurricane Ophelia picking up red sand dust from the Sahara and bringing it to Britain in the upper atmosphere; it augmented this effect by gathering debris from the Spanish and Portuguese forest fires. The Sahara side of the effect is comparatively common.
It was Sis who first noticed it and became very excitable, particularly as I had just managed to make one of her cameras work by the simple measure of formatting the memory card after copying its files onto a stick. Being a very simple camera, it turned the sky grey and the sun white.
However, the light was rather eerie and the sun could be safely viewed with the naked eye. The world returned to normality, quite abruptly, at 3:00 p.m.
I have also managed to make her better camera work, one of my cast-offs, by making her find the charging lead.
