West Hobart

Yesterday I discovered that fires are actually a significant issue in Tasmania. This should have been fairly obvious given how many of the trees around have clearly been burnt at some point. As we drove to a bbq yesterday evening an area of bush on the hill to the right was generating a lot of smoke. A large area of bush was burning there but under control. Again this evening the air was noticeably smoky and you could taste/smell it in the air.
Photo taken at the top row of houses next to Knocklofty before it becomes bush. The ground is very steep here, all of them are on stilts giving some very impressive views!
