the sea IX
I've decided to make a start on another series. Having a look at the interface of sea and land. Should be pretty interesting.
And my last series "lost" is now up on my blog Here
The image above was shot with the Hipstamatic app, John S lens and Float film, no flash. The version with the other filter is more conventional with some colour shifting. But I really like this one, a lot.
You know, one thing that I have come to realise is that, once one knows ones way around a camera, it is relatively simple to produce a technically perfect photograph. But I rarely get excited about such images. I can appreciate the technical expertise involved in producing them but just lately most of my photos shot with my Nikon is leaving me kind of flat. I'm referring to my own work here. But this image above really excites me. I was down the beach and shot 154 images with my iPhone, until my battery was in the red, using two different filters and I couldn't wait to get home and check them out.
The more I learn about iPhonography, and the more work I see that uses this camera/system, the more excited I am becoming. Ahh dear, I think that I am ranting.
Today was the first real beach day since last summer/autumn. It was just superb. There were kids and adults swimming (still in school holidays - kids are back at school next Monday). Anyway I wandered along the beach taking photos, being very careful not to point the camera in the direction of children, just to be on the safe side. It was just a wonderful day.
:-))
