One of the challenges of the hobby of modern boardgaming is how to describe it to those who are stuck in the mindset that boardgame = monopoly + children + Christmas.

"Adult Games" can be some people's description but has rather unfortunate connotations (such a miscommunication resulting in an entertaining email exchange with a reseller of same recently).  Likewise 'Designer games' hasn't really caught on like it has with clothes.

We settled on 'grown up games' for now anyway.
