Baleshare Beast

Dog walking took us to Baleshare and this Great Northern Diver was fishing just offshore. Looking at the image, I wonder if it has a slightly deformed upper mandible? Not in full breeding plumage but impressive any way and another in my Autumnal Shades of Grey series.
Whilst there looking south, I thought there was an early firework being launched on the beach and then realised just how far away it was. Very Father Ted - small cow far away, large cow close. 
The Americans are here and are currently testing missile and missile defences with other NATO countries which involves firing some large rockets - even with space capability I think - and then shooting them down. Glorified fireworks and not noticed by North Korea I hope. Don't fancy being a test destination for one of their missiles.
