Big and Little
Went to Nelson today - the first time I have been away from Murchison for four weeks. Had lots to do, starting with a haircut - gosh my head feels so much lighter now!
I went into Nelson via Rocks Road, which takes you around the waters edge, and past Port Nelson. As I was going around Rocks Road, the two Port Nelson tugs were sitting at the entrance to the cut (the main entrance into the Port), waiting for this big container ship to come into the Port to be unloaded. I would have loved to have seen it coming through the cut with the tugs, but I had to get into town to have lunch with my mum.
You can see how big the ship is compared to the smaller boat in front of it. The land that you can see between the ship and the sea in the forefront is the Bolder Bank. There is an old lighthouse on the Bolder Bank, although it is no longer used.
On the way home, I picked up KFC for tea, as a bit of a treat for the boys, who have been busy all day helping Farmerboy on the farm.
