The Eye of the Dragon

This morning we went for a walk through the Grove Scenic Reserve to the lookout. It is a pretty area of native bush and limestone rocks. In places you have to walk between rocks that are only shoulder width apart. It makes you wonder who first walked through it and 'discovered' it and who created the pathways.

Along the way were these rocks that made me think of a dragon protecting those who enter (or scaring them away).

From there we took a drive up to Kaituna planning to have lunch at the 'Naked Possum" restaurant and then do a bit of a walk through the bush. The restaurant was closed so we took a 2 hour walk in the bush instead - it was a really enjoyable walk anyway.

Late lunch back in Takaka and then back to our holiday house for a rest. We're off out to have dinner at a friend's house tonight, then it'll be home to pack.

We have to go home tomorrow - *note sad face here*.
