Dahlia

This flower's weight made it topple over, so it's been brought inside. I've not cut many flowers this year, since the overwhelming sweet peas put me off, so it's good to start again.

Another scorcher. Much of it spent inside battling with accounts (mainly Mr B) and contracts (me). Time though for some gardening (including tree pruning and stake-making with CarbBoy), a feast of cheese outside, and martinis on the terrace (Mr B only, I had dinner to think about). Dinner was lamb shoulder so slow cooked that it started yesterday. And a compromise on the potatoes under the meat or make gravy choice - by doing the potatoes separately.
