Rockport with Boats
After spending the night in Rockport, north of Boston, with our French friends Nine and Didier, we strolled down to the center of the small town, with its boats at anchor (this is just a selection).
We had lunch at our friend James's house in nearby Gloucester, wonderfully situated on the water (many more, but less picturesque). We had previously met him only in Paris--he was meeting Nine and Didier for the first time, and we all hit it off wonderfully.
It was raining by afternoon, but we went far enough on the new Gloucester Harbor Walk, completed this summer in the center of town, to see a display with my photograph of a Common Eider--a duck often seen in the area. There is also a Harbor Walk teeshirt with silhouttes of all 42 displays. I took lots of shots but they don't match this blip (maybe another time :)
