Just shows

You don’t always need young children with you in order to enter into the spirit of things! We’ve had a day of culture with our daughter and son-in-law, wandering round Hampstead flashing our Art Passes around. We met up at 2 Willow Road - the house designed and built by architect Ernö Goldfinger in the late 1930s as his family home. It’s a fascinating place, full of details, intriguing personal possessions and an impressive collection of 20th century art. We took a guided tour, which was excellent.

After coffee and cinnamon buns in one of the many cafés in Hampstead, we went round the corner to Keats House. Not actually his house, but the one he lived in and where he wrote most of his well-known poetry and which is now kept as a museum telling the story of his life with lots of original manuscripts and artefacts. We didn’t think we needed a guide here and went ahead to do our own thing . . . as these two demonstrate!

A walk through Hampstead Heath Village, lots of people at cafés and bars and shops, enjoying the fine, warm weather. Then we arrived at the delightful Holly Bush Pub for an excellent Sunday lunch.
