Big long walk Sunday & more rantings??!!

What a lovely sunny day in beautiful Edinburgh. Ann has been walking around in a Tshirt all day. Obviously she had other clothes on as well. Jumped on a number 11 bus, went to the terminus at 'Ocean Terminal' and walked all the way home which was six and a half miles. Most of the walk home was on the cycle paths. There are advantages and disadvantages of cycle paths. The advantages are; from Ann's point of view, they are flat so we have no big steep hills to go up and also they are traffic free. The disadvantages are; from my point of view, there are cyclists on the cycle paths so I have to stay on my lead, there are squirrels that need chasing and I can't get to them. And, actually once one has walked on a load of cycle paths they become a bit boring. They just go on and on and on and on.

Anyway, that said, I've had a lovely walk this afternoon and am now lying flaked out. Ann wishes she could be lying flaked out but she has too much stuff to do. Oh and if anyone is interested, this is a Blip of me on the bridge which goes over Crewe Road North. Could have posted another cycle path Blip but they all look the same to us?!

And now for more 'rantings'............................ Switch off now if you only want to know what a gorgeous little collie is up to.

After last weeks fiasco at the swimming pool Ann wondered whether she should phone first to make sure that the pool was open. Unfortunately she didn't phone and when she got to the pool there was the same notice on the door as last Sunday, which said, 'Due to staff shortages only 25 people are allowed in the pool at one time'.

Last week Ann was really nice to the girl on reception (even though she knew that one of the young lifeguards had probably phoned in sick with a hangover). This week she said, 'Does this happen every Sunday?' Girl on reception said, 'No, it's just because a lot of staff have holidays to use up at the moment.' Lady behind Ann in the queue said, 'It's been happening all summer. I've emailed your manager about it and still nothing has been done.' …..............Mmmmmmm................... sounds like someone is telling porkies???? And to be honest, Ann was the manager of a hotel for 6 years and part of her job was to organise the rotas. It's not exactly rocket science??!! You just have to make all staff aware that they can't all take holidays at the same time. And actually if it is a 'staff holiday' problem; how come it only happens on a Sunday??????

Anyway there was no point in ranting at the 12 year old young girl on reception and fortunately Ann managed to get into the pool where she swam another 50 lengths towards her ''Aspire Swim the English Channel Challenge' so all is good.

.............And at this point we would like to thank 'Archie's Owners' for their generous donation to our ''Just Giving' page. We would also like to thank the 'anonymous' person who has made a donation. Haven't a clue who you are but your donation is very much appreciated. We've thanked you on FB (but don't know if you're a FB friend?), so now we're thanking you on BLIP (but don't know if you're a BLIP friend). Or may be you're a 'real life' friend who is not on social media? Haven't a clue. But thank you anyway. xxx
