Colourful

We are in La Chappelle Sur Erdre tonight, having been given a jumpstart by the man from the rescue service who said he had never seen a battery like ours and had no idea where we might get one. He suggested we stay put, call out for another start tomorrow and go to the Chevy dealership in in Orvault for help.

He had no English and we have limited French. It seemed too difficult to get across the sense that the battery is a standard one but has different connectors. Thinking we had a better plan, we came here because it is close to a branch of the French equivalent of Autofit.

We should be able to have the connectors replaced and a new battery fitted with little difficulty. If we need a jump then the Aire we are on will accommodate the rescue vehicle with no difficulty.

OK, it is nowhere near as charming as the Chateau was but it's much closer to assistance and we did the hard work of negotiating the ring road around Nantes in quiet Sunday traffic rather than first thing Monday morning.

Managed to fit in a good riverside walk this afternoon, which helped to restore spirits enormously.
