It can't happen to me ...

I wonder if these two guys, who admittedly, have done a remarkable job on the new roof, have adopted the above ethos?  The man on the right, no hard hat, no harness and soft shoes, has fallen off the roof once without injury. The man on the left, no hard hat and no harness, has not fallen but is precariously balanced on the topmost rungs of his untied scaffold tower whilst leaning over to work on the roof.
As a watching neighbour, I am reminded of the man who fell off the roof of a ten-storey building, who, upon passing each window on the way down, remarked, 'so far, so good ...'
